Our Process

A Plan You Understand and Own

Good planning is not a document. It is a sequence of conversations that ends with you knowing exactly where you stand, what you are working toward, and why each decision was made. We use the same six-phase process with every planning client, whether the situation is straightforward or highly complex. The depth changes. The discipline does not.

The Six Phases

Phase One · Data Gathering

We collect the full picture — income, assets, obligations, existing coverage, entity structures, and the documents already in place. Nothing is recommended at this stage. We are simply making sure that when advice does come, it is built on complete information rather than assumptions.

Phase Two · Values & Goals

This is the conversation that shapes everything after it. What are you actually trying to build? Who depends on you? What would you regret not having done? Numbers are easy to gather and easy to model. Priorities take longer, and they are what make a plan yours rather than generic.

Phase Three · Education

Before we recommend anything, we make sure you understand the options in front of you. You should be able to explain your own plan to someone else. If you cannot, we have not finished this phase — and a plan you do not understand is one you will abandon the first time markets get uncomfortable.

Phase Four · Plan Construction

We build the plan itself — cash flow modeling, retirement and investment strategy, tax considerations, risk management, and coordination of estate documents with your attorney. Where your situation involves business entities, this is where structure and succession are addressed.

Phase Five · Dress Rehearsal

We walk the completed plan with you before anything is implemented. This is deliberately a rehearsal, not a presentation. You push back, we adjust, and we do that as many times as it takes. Nothing moves until you are genuinely comfortable.

Phase Six · Implementation

We put the plan to work — accounts, coverage, structures, and the coordination that ties them together. You are not handed a binder and a phone number. Our operations team carries the paperwork so you do not have to.

And Then · Ongoing Advisory

A plan built in one season and never revisited stops being useful. We review on a defined schedule and whenever life changes — a sale, a birth, a move, a loss, a market that behaves unexpectedly. The plan adjusts because your life does.

What You Can Expect From Us

  • A single point of contact who knows your situation without needing to look it up
  • Recommendations explained in plain language, with the reasoning shown
  • Coordination with your other professionals — e.g., attorney, CPA, or business partners
  • Honest answers, including when the honest answer is that you do not need what we sell

Start with a conversation.

The first meeting is a conversation about your situation and whether we are the right fit. There is no cost and no obligation.
